Woodworking fabrication and design is a combination of science and technique. Developing this base has taken years of study and practice.  In 11 years as a professional woodworker I have had the time to develop my technique and time has shown it to be sound.  My background in antique restoration enabled me to gain valuable insights into how wood joinery and finishes wear.  This knowledge forms the basis of my approach to design and fabrication.  My goal is to develop a product or installation that embraces the fact that everything wears, everything ages.  The hallmark of a great designer or craftsman is not what the piece looks like upon completion, but; how it looks five, ten years down the road.

In support of my benchtop work I turn to CAD, CNC and engineered materials such as plastics, metals, and glass. Additionally, my resources and contacts in the manufacturing industry enable me to take advantage of a wide array of materials and industrial resources.  Where fabrication is concerned, technology can only be superior when the techniques it is synthesizing are throroughly understood by the designer.
